A Note From Tom

I started this business out of a garage in Old North End in 2003.

My first customer was a neighbor who needed her panel replaced and didn't trust the bigger shops to be straight with her about what it cost. I gave her a number, did the work, and 22 years later her daughter still calls me when something goes wrong at her own house.

That's the whole business right there. I'd rather have 800 customers who call me back than 8,000 who only see me once. We do good work, we charge fair, we clean up after ourselves, and we tell you the truth even when the truth is "you don't actually need this." That's how I'd want my own house treated.

Today it's me, my son Jake (also a licensed journeyman), and one apprentice we're bringing up. We're small on purpose. Every job that goes out the door has my name on it.

Greenfield Electric has been Burlington's neighborhood electrician since 2003. It's still a small operation on purpose. Tom, his son Jake, and one apprentice the team is bringing up. If we miss your call, you get a real callback within a few hours, not a robo-text saying "we got your message." During business hours someone in our office actually picks up.

Quotes in writing, not on the back of a card

Every job over $300 gets a written quote with materials, labor, and the scope spelled out. The number on the quote is the number you pay. No "well, it turned out to be more than I thought" surprises.

We tell you when you don't need us

Half the time someone calls about a "dead outlet," it's a tripped GFCI in another room. We'll talk you through it on the phone before we drive out. Saves you a service call fee and builds the kind of trust that turns into the next job.

We clean up

Drop cloths down, drywall dust vacuumed, scrap wire and packaging hauled out. You shouldn't be able to tell where we worked except for the thing that now turns on.

Your panel gets labeled

Every job that touches a circuit ends with a properly labeled breaker. Most panels we open have "kitchen?" written in pencil on a 30-year-old strip of tape. That's not how we leave them.

One-year workmanship warranty
