Some things can't wait until morning.

If any of these are happening right now, stop scrolling and call us. Don't try to fix it yourself, don't wait it out, and definitely don't keep using the circuit. We answer the phone at 2am for a reason.

๐Ÿ”ฅ
Burning smell from an outlet or panel
Plastic-burning smell near a wall outlet, switch, or breaker box is one of the highest-risk indicators of electrical failure. Kill the breaker if you can find it, get away from the area, and call us immediately.
โšก
Sparks, popping, or buzzing sounds
Sparks from any outlet, audible buzzing from your panel, or popping from a breaker means a connection is failing. This is how electrical fires start. We're rolling within the hour.
โšซ
Half the house lost power
If part of your house is dead and the rest is fine, it's almost always a tripped GFCI, a failed breaker, or a loose neutral. The last one is dangerous. Call before you start flipping switches at random.
๐Ÿ’ง
Water hit the panel or wiring
Roof leak in the wrong spot, washing machine line burst, basement flood. Water plus electricity is a hard stop. Don't touch the panel. Call us and we'll handle the lockout safely.
๐Ÿ”„
Breaker that keeps tripping
A breaker that trips once is doing its job. A breaker that trips three times in an hour is telling you something's wrong on the circuit. Don't keep resetting it. We'll find the cause tonight.
โš ๏ธ
Power outage that's only your house
Avista is up, your neighbors have power, but your house is dark. That's a service entrance, meter, or main breaker problem. We work directly with the utility on disconnects and reconnects.
AVG DISPATCH TIME
47
MINUTES FROM CALL TO TRUCK
Measured across 412 emergency calls in 2025. Most rural calls under 75 minutes. Spokane city core often under 30. We don't outsource dispatch and we don't use a call center.

A real person picks up. A real truck rolls.

Most "24/7 emergency electrician" listings on Google route you to an answering service that takes a message and pages someone who might or might not call back. That's not what happens here.

When you call Voltage Response after hours, you reach a licensed electrician who's on rotation that night. They get your address, ask what's happening, give you instructions to stay safe, and get a truck moving. Average dispatch time is under an hour. We track it, we publish it, and we work to keep it down.

What we get called out for. Every night of the week.

Six things make up most of our after-hours volume. Some are dangerous and we'll have someone out fast. Some can wait until morning, and we'll tell you that on the call.

01

Panel Replacement and Service Restoration

Failed main breaker, burned bus bar, melted lugs. We do emergency panel swaps overnight when the situation demands it, including coordination with Avista for service disconnect.

02

Outlet, Switch, and Wiring Failures

Burned outlets, melted switches, hot wall plates, failing GFCIs. We diagnose the cause, kill the circuit safely, and either fix it tonight or make it safe until morning if a part isn't on the truck.

03

Whole-House Power Loss

Power out at your house only, neighbors are fine. Usually a main breaker, service entrance, or meter base failure. We work directly with the utility on disconnects so we can get you back up tonight.

04

Storm and Tree Damage

Tree took down your service drop, ice tore out your weatherhead, lightning fried your panel. We do emergency mast and weatherhead repairs and can certify the rebuild for utility reconnection.

05

Water Damage to Electrical Systems

Burst pipe over a panel, flooded basement with circuits at floor level, roof leak hitting wiring. We safely lock out the affected circuits, document for insurance, and remediate after the water is out.

06

Commercial Down Calls

Restaurant lost power before dinner service, retail tenant has no lights an hour before open, walk-in cooler tripped its breaker overnight. We prioritize commercial down calls and dispatch faster.

Built for the calls that can't wait until morning.

Voltage Response Electric was started in 2011 by Marcus Reyes, a Washington master electrician who got tired of watching homeowners get bounced to answering services at 11pm. Today the shop runs 24 hours a day with a real on-call rotation, real licensed electricians, and a real truck on the road inside an hour. We exist for the moments when the breaker won't reset and Google is the next call.

REASON 01
A real licensed electrician answers the phone
When you call after hours, the person on the other end is one of our licensed electricians on rotation that night. Not an answering service, not a dispatcher reading a script. You get advice from an electrician within 60 seconds of dialing.
REASON 02
Trucks are stocked for the most common emergencies
Every truck carries replacement breakers for the panels we see most around Spokane, GFCIs, common outlets, wire nuts, conduit, and the parts to do an emergency mast or weatherhead repair. Most calls get fixed on the first visit, not made safe and rescheduled.
REASON 03
No after-hours surcharge games
Some shops charge a flat fee for the after-hours visit and then a separate emergency rate on top. We don't. One honest hourly rate, posted on the website, same whether you call us at 2pm or 2am. Materials are at cost plus a small markup we'll show you on the invoice.
REASON 04
We track our response time and we publish it
Most "24/7 emergency" listings are marketing copy. Ours is measured. 47 minutes average from call to truck across 412 emergency calls in 2025. We update the number on the homepage every quarter and we don't hide a slow month.
REASON 05
Direct line to the utility for service work
When the problem is on the meter base, mast, or service entrance, we coordinate the disconnect and reconnect with Avista directly. You don't make the utility call yourself and you don't wait two weeks for a meter pull.
REASON 06
Honest about whether you actually need us
If you call about a "dead outlet" and it sounds like a tripped GFCI, we'll walk you through finding the reset button before we drive out. Saves you a service call and earns the kind of trust that turns you into a customer for the next thing that breaks at midnight.

Called at 11:40 on a Thursday night with a smoking outlet behind the fridge. A truck was in my driveway by 12:25. Marcus diagnosed it in five minutes, made it safe, and came back the next morning to do the full repair. I tell every neighbor about these guys.

Don't wait it out. Don't Google it.
Call us right now.

Electrical problems get worse, not better. The breaker that trips tonight is the fire that starts at 4am. If something's wrong, pick up the phone.
