What We Fix

Plumbing problems,
handled on your worst day.

We are not the cheapest plumber in town and we are not trying to be. We are the one you call when the floor is wet, the basement is filling up, or the hot water has been gone for two days and the kids need a bath.

Why Westbrook

A plumber that
picks up the phone.

There is a reason most of our calls come from neighbors of past customers. We do the work the way we would want it done at our own house, and we do not vanish when something is hard.

01

A real plumber answers, every time

Your call goes to a person in Westbrook, not a national dispatch center. After hours, holidays, doesn't matter. If it rings, somebody picks up.

02

Flat-rate pricing, told to you up front

You hear the price before any work starts. No hourly meter running while we look for parts. If we hit a surprise behind the wall, we stop and tell you before charging anything extra.

03

Stocked trucks, fewer parts runs

Our trucks carry common water heaters, pressure-reducing valves, expansion tanks, and the fittings for most repipes. Most jobs we are quoted on, we can finish that same visit.

04

17 years in the same towns

We have been working the Westbrook tri-county area since 2008. Same owner, same shop, same phone number. The reputation is the business.

Meet The Owner

Mike Halverson
started this with one truck.

Mike apprenticed under his father in 2003, got his master plumber license five years later, and bought his first service truck in 2008. Westbrook Plumbing has grown to a six-person crew since then - but Mike still rolls on after-hours calls himself most weekends.

"I started this because I was tired of working for outfits that nickel-and-dimed people on emergencies. If you call me at 2am, you're already having a bad night. My job is to make the next 60 minutes the best part of it."

On Every Truck

Stocked for the call,
not the parts run.

Most of the jobs we get called on, we can finish that same visit - because the parts are already on the truck. Here's what's riding around in the back of every Westbrook van.

"Called Westbrook at 11pm with a busted pipe under our kitchen sink. Tech was at our door in under an hour, fixed it for the price he quoted on the phone. Honest people are hard to find. These guys are it."

"Replaced our 18-year-old water heater. Got three quotes - Westbrook wasn't the cheapest but they explained why their option lasts longer and didn't push extras. Install was same day. Looks like a factory job."

"Slab leak. Other companies said they'd have to break up half my floor. Mike came out, found it with a camera in 20 minutes, repaired it through one small access cut. Saved me thousands. Will use Westbrook for life."

Common Questions

The stuff people ask
at 2 in the morning.

Honest answers to the questions you're already thinking about before you pick up the phone.

How much does an after-hours emergency call cost?
Our after-hours service call is a flat $149, and that gets a licensed plumber to your door, diagnosis, and a full written quote before any work starts. If you decide to move forward with the repair, the $149 rolls into the job. We don't surprise you with weekend surcharges in the middle of the work.
Do you charge extra on weekends or holidays?
The same flat service call rate applies 24/7/365. We do not have a "premium" weekend price, a holiday upcharge, or a midnight rate. If we pick up the phone, you get the same number we'd quote on a Tuesday afternoon.
What if you can't fix it tonight?
Our trucks are stocked to finish about 85% of emergency calls on the first visit. If we hit a job that needs a part we don't have - rare, but it happens - we'll do whatever we can to make the situation safe (shut-offs, temporary caps, drying gear), give you a no-charge quote for the full repair, and be back first thing in the morning.
Will you tear up my floor for a slab leak?
Almost never. We use acoustic listening gear and thermal imaging to pinpoint the exact location before any concrete gets touched. Most slab leaks we repair through one small access cut, not a torn-up living room. If a re-route is the better option, we'll explain why and let you choose.
Are you actually licensed and insured?
Yes - Oregon PB-7842 (demo), bonded and insured. Every plumber on our crew is licensed by the state, not just the owner. We carry $2M in general liability and full workers' comp on all employees. We're happy to send proof of insurance before we ever knock on your door.
Do you offer financing on big jobs like repipes or water heater installs?
Yes, through Synchrony - 0% APR for 12 months on approved credit, longer terms also available. We can run the application from the truck and have approval back in about 5 minutes, so you don't have to decide whether to fix something based on what's in your checking account today.
What's your warranty?
1 year on labor for all repair work, in writing. Manufacturer warranty on parts (typically 6 years on water heaters, 10+ on tankless). If something we touched fails inside the warranty window, we come back out and fix it - no second service call fee.
Honest Scope

What we
don't do.

We're not a one-stop-shop and we're not going to pretend to be. Here's the work we say no to - so when we say yes, you know we mean it.

New construction rough-ins

We're a service and repair shop. New builds need a different kind of crew, on a different schedule. We'll happily refer you to one we trust.

Septic tank pumping

We work on the lines into and out of the tank, but we don't pump tanks. There are specialists who do this better than we ever would.

Well pumps and well work

Once water is in the house, we're your people. Anything happening underground at the well head needs a licensed well contractor.

HVAC, refrigeration, or duct work

We touch the gas line going to your furnace. We don't touch the furnace itself. Different license, different trade.

"Cheapest in town" pricing

If price is the only thing that matters, we're not the right fit. We charge a fair flat rate for work we'll stand behind for years.

Where We Work

Serving the Westbrook
tri-county area
since 2008.

We cover most of the towns within about 35 minutes of our shop. If yours is not on the list, give us a call - if there is a truck nearby, we are coming.
